| 100 Series: Bystander Assistance Program - "A Crash Course for the Motorcyclist" |
The
basic Bystander Assistance Program (BAP) "A Crash Course for the
Motorcyclist" is designed for the motorcyclist. BAP classes have
made an impact on over 3000 motorcyclists since 1997 by training them
what to do at the scene of a motorcycle crash until professional help
arrives. Don't miss your opportunity to learn the specifics of motorcycle
trauma care. Preventing Further Injury, Assessing the Situation, Effectively
Contacting the EMS, Treating life Threatening Injuries, & Protecting
Yourself Legally & Financially are all covered in this one-day course.
CEUs are issued to emergency personnel who complete the course. There's
no other class like it!
200 Series: "CPR & 1st Aid for the Rider Coach" Certification |
This 6 hour course is designed to make CPR & 1st Aid Certification more meaningful for the Rider Coach. Helmet removal and
Jaw Thrust rescue breathing are included and certification through the American Heart Association of the American Red Cross
is awarded. This course is not available in all areas.
| 300 Series: "Advanced Bystander Assistance Program" |
This class will enhance the knowledge gained in the basic Bystander Assistance Program "A Crash Course for the Motorcyclist". Attendance at a basic class within the past two years is required in order to take the advanced class. This class focuses on how to be a better assistant to the EMS. Advanced Assessment & Treatment techniques, Hands on Practice, and a section of Law Enforcement are included in this one-day course. CEUs are issued to emergency personnel who complete the class.
400 Series: Professional Series - "Anatomy of a Motorcycle Crash" This 3-4 hour class addresses the specifics of a motorcycle crash and what it means to the EMS and other service personnel. Scene Management, Safety, a Motorcycle Lab, and Full Faced Helmet Removal with Jaw Thrust Rescue Breathing are the focus of the program. Three CEUs will be awarded along with a DOT certificate of completion.
500 series: Ongoing Education - "Bystander Assistance Refresher" This 4 hour class assists the motorcyclist to maintain skills learned in Basic and Advanced classes with a "skills lab". After a brief update, the class spends the rest of their time reviewing situations and in hands on stations. Basic and Advanced within the past two years is required. This class is recommended for Road Guards and Safety Officers every year and for motorcyclists every one-two years.
